Really.. I love the world coming back to life after it's winter slumber. However, this year the Spring rains seem to follow the NASCAR series postponing races, and practices are eliminated entirely! Such is the case again this week. Watching the practices helps me pick where certain drivers will finish the race, in an online game I am playing. I'll have to choose again this week w/o any info about the cars, or drivers. Aaarrrggh!!! Yeah I know, Big Deal... 'CAUSE IT'S SPRING!!!

I still haven't figured out how to put my new cameras pics and vids on my blog yet, but it'll be soon I promise. Well ok, I tried to figure it out but after an hour of trying nothing yet. :o(

It's pretty cool temperature-wise 58 F, 14.4 C* At 12:30 pm CST. So no mushroom hunting today. It's really muddy too! I need a second Wheelchair just for outdoor use. With 4 wheel drive, and monster wheels (I have seen one, it could haul a little trailer that was carrying 100+ pounds, 45.36kilograms*, of rocks!)

Oh yeah, guess what I got in the mail this week? I'll show you once I figure out the new camera. Hint; It was Black and Gold, now it's Purple. Later on everyone, Thor

The Title of my post used to be the catch-phrase of Sony's commercials, but I digress.

Good old Wheel of Fortune. I play along online for points to purchase Sony(WoF's sponsor) products. You must use your points once a year or you lose them. So I purchased a Sony HD bloggie camera using my points and some $$. Once I/Sheila get this thing figured out it does some pretty cool stuff. I'll have to figure out how to use it with Blogspot... I think... Hell I don't know, I am about as clueless as a two year old about this stuff. Although at two years of age, my niece might know more than me! Who am I kidding, she does!

It's been a lot cooler this week in the heartland, but still great. Might be able to find the elusive Morrell mushrooms throughout the woods. Definitely the best tasting, and profitable. You can find people willing to pay up to $40.00 a pound. They can only be found for a couple of weeks (in early to mid April here) hence the price! YUMMY

Oh yeah, both the NASCAR races ( Nationwide and Sprint cup) are on today due to a rainout of the Nationwide race yesterday, which will start at 8:00 pm tonight CST. GO MATT!!

I suppose I should change my blog page to update to Matt's new car sponsor, and maybe other stuff. Today is NASCAR's race in Phoenix! Go Matt Go!! It's hard still for me to find the Crown Royal car instead of the familiar yellow and black of DeWalt.

It's a beautiful day here in the center of the midwest and I think I should go Geocaching. What is it, go to geocaching.com and see! It's a great way to get exercise and see awesome places.

Well would you look @ this? Here's something I haven't seen in a while. My blog. I started it with the best of intentions... that didn't get me very far. Not for very long anyway.

Well my NASCAR driver is no longer sponsored by DeWalt tools, which I guess is OK since I can no longer use the tools myself. Whats really cool is he is now sponsored by Crown Royal Whiskey, which was my favorite paint scheme, Yeaaa!

The Chiefs were horrible last year, although they did foil the Broncos run for the playoffs, HA HA HA! Sorry about that... no I'm not! We will see how they do with acquisitions this off season. Also QB Matt Cassel needs to live up to the $$$ he's getting, as long as the Chiefs find a way to protect his blind side.

I am feeling pretty good these days. It being spring helps a lot! I went to my second ever Geocaching Event. I met a bunch of Cachers there, even though it was pouring rain most of the time. geocaching.com will explain everything about the sport. It gets you out and exploring the areas near(and far from) you.

I now have an awesome Van to get around in, it's a million times better than the one I first had! I also have a dog whose name starts with the word Geo, Georgia loves to go with us Geocaching!

Then you will remember who I am. :-) Hello everybody it's me again!... Tom, it's Tom... The one who occasionally writes blogs... Yes that Tom... OK now you just fuckin' with me, you know who I am... ?

Maybe this will help. Matt Kenseth has been robbed of two top 10 finishes. First , by his teammate David Ragan (wound up 37th instead). And then by Jeff Gordon (wound up somewhere in the mid-twenties, when he should've at least wound up second). Jeff turned up into Matt and somehow changed the airflow (I say this because Matt Kenseth's car had a black spot on it were Gordon barely touched him. No dent in Matt's car at all.) ! Which is a good thing , because it was an awesome car. And even though he spun out, none of the other cars touched him. Sure he will be able to race the car again somewhere else, but it sure did hurt his points standings. Plus he should've had all top 10 finishes. Lets see ,it seems I am missing something... oh yeah "JEFF GORDON SUCKS"

I sure hope the Kansas City Chiefs make the right choice with their awesome position in the draft. Their 4 win and 12 loss season saw to that! Enough said.

Oh , I got a new bed. And I mean new, the electric controls on it not only raise and lower my feet and head, but the entire bed goes up and down also, and without having to use a handcrank. Sheila really likes that part. The control on my other bed broke plus the bed was bent in the middle. Sheila told them "what for" when she talked to the "Whole Person" the company I have to deal with to get things taken care of with my bed, my power chair, and other things to help me with my life as a quadriplegic. It's weird how they treat me so rude (one of my good friends was best man at the owners wedding). Anyhow YEAAA Sheila.

It was a wonderful day today! I got up in my chair for the first time in three weeks. I was lightheaded , I had to deal with my hair being ripped out on the back of my head from combing it after laying on the pillows so long. Then I tried to choke myself to death on jelly from my PB and J. Seriously, It tried to go down my windpipe. Some of it may have succeeded. I hate jelly. 'cept I love it.

Then it was time for me to get back in bed. When I got undressed to get back in bed . I became very cold . I told Sheila this , and she threw me a sheet I'm sure she brought in from outside!Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! The argument or "discussion" elevated from there it ended fairly abruptly with me sort of having a blanket covering me. Damn it looks like I lost this argument er "discussion "! Anyway , I am very sorry sweetie, and I love you lots! :-) .

My last post discussed bird feeders , and considering the birds that eat there your pet's!
I have my feeder in a spot in my front garden bed. In the spring we just pull up everything that has started growing. In the spring, you scrape the top layer of dirt containing the "Poo" then you can plant annuals. Or better yet , plant perennials , and U don't have to mess with the "poo" at all. Hello not a G-ma it is 29 days 16 hours and five minutes till the Daytona 500! But the Budweiser shoot out is the Sunday before that YEAH!! Watch, the number 17 will be in the winner's circle at the end of Daytona. Brown headed cowbirds are black , with an irradescent green that shows in the black area in the sunlight. Their heads and necks are Brown. About the size of a robin, but much sleeker looking. Hey look Sheila showed me how to do pictures on my blog

Trisha, Infiniti is like the exact opposite of zero. It's the highest amount there is, you cannot take it times one million. It is still Infiniti, It is like zero in that respect. Hello it's me ....again!

At this time , I am doing very good. Although cabin fever has set in, I have a bird feeder that sits outside of my window in the bedroom. I personally believe the best way to have pet birds is just have a bird feeder! I have all kinds of birds, goldfinches, purple finches, house finches, Cardinals, Blue Jays, juncos, Brown headed cowbirds, all types of sparrows! I'm sure there are some that I forgot to mention. My point is , I get all kinds of birds . I don't have clean a birdcage, or worry about the cats! :-) It helps a whole lot to have a birdbath nearby, and during the cold cold part of the year, nothing but birds , and lots of them.

Well the Chiefs did everything in their power this year to ensure a very good draft pick by being the third or fourth worst team. What can I say it's a rebuilding decade! ;-) I hope we get someone really awesome, too bad we can't get an entire offensive line in one pick.

Matt Kenseth finished out his year racing awesome. Five top-five finishes in the last five races , including winning the very last old-style car race. The "car of tomorrow", is now the only car there is. Watch for the number 17 in victory lane frequently next year.

We've rang in new year , just me and Sheila and Paul. Nothing real exciting , but then I had other engagements. :-( Christmas was wonderful, we had four different Christmas parties. We had Sheila's mom's side of the family come over (this is the first year I participated in it). Then Christmas Eve with my dad and my immediate siblings and their families, especially with my wonderful sister PATRICIA, and ASHLYN her pretty pretty princess daughter. On Christmas Day Sheila's mom and sister came over early. And then my mom and my immediate siblings , and their families, and my wonderful sister PATTY LYNN, and her beautiful daughter ASHLYN. I love you Tricia :-) x 2 Infinity.

I SHALL RETURN... Although I won't say when, that way , I will be telling the truth.

P. S. Word has it that Shannon had a " blue " Christmas. Get it,ha ha, oh I kill myself, ha ha!! :-P

TIME FLIES....

It is amazing to me , how fast time goes by. Being a quadriplegic I spend most of my time , a good deal of it, in bed. Yet even though the days seem to last for ever, the years are still flying by. That fact is further complicated by me saying my days last for ever . But if that were the case , you would think I would get something done in the day. I suppose I do quite a few things in a day, like download music, or download movies, occasionally burning a CD, and very rarely I shop online.

My connection to my computer is almost inseparable and if my computer goes on the fritz like Sheila's did. I have no idea what I will do with my days. I was just becoming a computer user , a couple of years before I got hurt. Back then , I had plenty of things to do besides being on the computer. Now I am absolutely sure that I would go insane if I did not have one!

I have some good news. My pressure wound is doing so good it should be healed anytime! That typically would mean that I would get out more in my chair, but now the weather outside is frightful, and it's really not so delightful, and since I've no place to go, I lay low , so the day, goes so slow. ;-)

Well , the Kansas City Chiefs have opted to go with their second quarterback Brody Coyle. That is because they're starting quarterback Damon Huard is hurt. Damon is a good quarterback , but he would not make it to a Super Bowl . Brody on the other hand , has a strong arm , and most of the time he hits his targets. His completion percentage is much higher than Damon's. GO CHIEFS!!!

Matt Kenseth, after a horrible start in the chase for the Nextel cup [three DNF's (did not finish) in the first five races]. That put him in last place (12th). Since then he has had two second-place finishes, a third-place finish, and the fifth-place finish. Which has put him in sixth place with the final race coming this Sunday. If things go right he could end up in fourth. GO MATT !!!

Everyone have a happy Thanksgiving. I will be checking to see if you are naughty or if you are nice. Either one is acceptable. But I don't need pictures of you being nice! Hint hint. ;-)

Yes I'm still alive! There's really no good reason why I have not gotten on here and written a post. I just haven't known what to write about. OK there is no reason that I have not written a post. That I will try to do more regularly now , I promise. (I'll try)

Well Matt Kenseth made it into the chase for the championship cup. Unfortunately , he seems to be having all kinds of problems with his car. Finally this Sunday he made it in fifth place at Martinsville. Now it's time for him to move from last to somewhere in the middle. It will take some good placing in these last races.

And not a granny, sorry your boy Kasey Kane is now part of Dale Earnhardt Inc.. But he is probably the second most popular driver in NASCAR , and he's young. Budweiser will love having that. And he will be a good Budweiser representative.!

How about those Chiefs!!! Just when everybody thought they were down and out! They are in first place in the AFC West! OK , they are 4-3. But they're still in first :-)
their rookie receiver Dwain Bowe is set to win the rookie of the year. And how about Tony Gonzalez with the most touchdown receptions by a tight end! And how about that Priest Holmes, Hope to see more of him next week. So there's three pretty big stories about the Chiefs! If they can just get in the end zone more often.

Since the Kansas City area has not yet bought an NHL team the Tampa Bay Lightning are still my team. I wish I was able to afford NHL center ice. They are in second place in the Southern division.. Kansas City now has the Sprint center . Hopefully next year we will have a team here.

As for me . I am doing rather well . I have a new bathroom and a shower , and you could not imagine how awesome it is to be able to shower after so long. Well , I'm going to go. Heroes is on

Hello everyone, again , it appears that I have taken longer than I anticipated. Again , I apologize. I would like you to know that I read your blog's all the time.

I am laying here watching the Busch race, Greg Biffle is in first place with Carl Edwards in second. They are both teammates of Matt Kenseth. He is not racing in today's Busch race. (By the way I'm sorry "not a granny" for not responding sooner) !) This part is for you. I believe now that DEI racing and Ginn racing are together and have Mark Martin to be a mentor to the young team. Sterling Marlin and Joe Nemechek have been let go from Ginn. While it could be possible . I doubt that they will try to get Kasey Kahne. I am sure they would love to have him!

How about Matt Kenseth last week, came in second in the Busch race and in the Nextel cup. I would not be surprised to see him in the winners Circle tomorrow, with Carl Edwards coming in runner-up. Then maybe Kasey Kahne in third.

OK , it is two days later now, and Matt Kenseth came in a respectable 10th place considering the car he was driving was probably a 17th to 20th place car! He is now just six points out of second place! An accident on lap 43 took Kasey Kahne out of the race, 40th place (sorry about that not a granny).

The Chiefs have begun their workouts and are now in River Falls , Wisconsin for training camp! I cannot believe Priest Holmes is working out with the team. Fond memories of his football career before he got hurt; teams were unable to stop him! He had the patience to wait for his blocks, he pounded defensive players until they submitted. He had excellent hands for catching the ball. He has been cleared to play by his doctors, it would be so awesome to have Priest Holmes (playing like he did) backing up Larry Johnson, or in the backfield together WOOO- HOOO! Anyway we'll see if that happens.

Of course , Larry Johnson has not re-signed with the Chiefs yet, and they have not signed their first-round draft pick Dwain Bowe a wide reciever from LSU.

Well , it is only 81° outside and cloudy sly believe it's time for me to go outside thank you all for reading and I will be back soon... ;-)

Hello everyone I'm sorry has taken so long for me to write. Not a whole lot has happened since my last post, OK my last post was from three years ago so the post before that. And I will interject from time to time with the stuff that I did write three years ago. I find it interesting that I was writing about the same things back then as I am now.

Speaking of "now", here in the Kansas City area "Sprint ." the Telephone Company is building the Sprint Center. It is being built in what is called the "power and light district". It is an attempt (and damn good one) to revamp the hollowed out core of the city. Anyway , the Sprint Center was attempting to court the Pittsburgh Penguins. They decided to stay in Pittsburgh. Now they are attempting to bring Nashville's team "the Predators" here. Please bring me an NHL team! So the Tampa Bay Lightning may have to be my second favorite team. I also thought I heard something the other night about Pittsburgh reneging on stuff that it promised the Penguins. So who knows, the Predators lease is up at the end of next year.

The Chiefs season will be starting soon. It is going to be an interesting year . We got rid of a lot of good players , and have a whole bunch of new players, in an attempt to bring youth to the team. Damon Huard and Brody Croyle are the two new quarterbacks trying for the starting job. Actually Damon started seven games for us last year , while Trent Green was hurt. That won't be decided until after the preseason. We love our football here. And I don't care what anybody reads anywhere . The Chiefs fans created , and then perfected tailgating as it is known today. (I watched six cars burn up in the parking lot , while everybody was in the stadium. I was in the stadium too.) , someone did not dispose of their coals in the bins like they were supposed to.

Matt Kenseth came in eighth place in the NASCAR Nextel race last weekend. He is still in third place in the points standings, but he gained points on second-place driver Denny Hamlin. Tony Stewart and Denny are teammates but it did not look like it this time. Tony rammed the back of Denny and it took both of them out of the race. Matt Kenseth's teammate Jamie McMurray won the race, by the second narrowest margin since electronic timings inception! Carl Edwards who is a Columbia , Missouri native (where I rehabbed after my spinal cord injury) came in fourth. Greg Biffle came in sixth, newcomer David Ragan came in 12th. That's the entire Roush/Fenway car lineup!

As for myself, I am doing very well. Except for Comcast wants me to give them $182. 00. Oh yeah, and my electric bill has nearly tripled . :-( physically , however , my pressure wound that I have had for longer than I care to say , is beginning to heal significantly. :-) oh yeah I forgot some of my wires in my van are burning, we can smell it and see the smoke coming from under the fender well on the passenger front side. Definitely the smell of wire insulation burning.

So my hockey team won today. I haven't quite figured out why this thing is making so many typos . I know it is me. I have to learn to talk with enunciated and clear words. Anyway , the Tampa Bay Lightning have won two of the second round series. Their opponents are down two to zero hopefully we will win two more in a row. That will give them a nice long rest (not that they need it !) But it can't hurt. Someday I will be able to use the software easily. The DeWalt car blew an engine today . Now Matt is in fifth place on the points standing. It will take very good racing for the next month to get his place back, but that's NASCAR! He survived what could have been a terrible wreck, and made it all the way up to second place . Then his engine blew. Sheila is outside taking pictures of Elizabeth and her new boyfriend. Then we are going to download it to disk, and maybe print out a few. I could start making a journal every day , memoirs of Thor I will call it.Hmmm I'll have to think about that. Man, when I enunciate and don't try to force the words the software works pretty good. Sheila took almost 120 pictures, thank God for modern technology! Well , that's been my exciting day. Deadwood is on in 30 minutes, it's an HBO series about the old West. Except they curse like sailors , they say the F-word at least 50 times a show.

I just started using paragraphs again after I began blogging. So that was the day Number One Fan truely started!

I can see you sitting there thinking , shouldn't that "!" in the title have been a "?" Well , actually, no. You see what I mean is everywhere I look on my back porch and in my yard was family or friends!

My uncle and aunt on my dad side of the family were here. My uncle brought his wife and my cousin Chris who had his daughter with him. My aunt brought her new husband and her daughter Lena, who had her son with her. My sister Tracie , who now lives in Oklahoma was here with her husband and her two kids. My sister Patricia (you all know her as "Have a drink on for me" Trish). My dad , of course was here. Plus my friend Paul and Sheila. I hate to admit it but there was another child here who I'm not sure how she fit in. Oh yes , and Tracie's pug . My sister Terri and her new husband as of yesterday, weren't here for some reason hmmmmm I wonder why? ;-) . Congratulations you two!

It was definitely the most kick ass Sunday I have had in awhile! Everybody is so fun to hangout with. Unfortunately , everybody was stopping by my house on their way out of town . so I didn't get to see them for very long. It still kicked ass .

My NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth has to wait until tomorrow (Monday) . Today to all of you. to race. Yes , the race got rained out today, so it will begin at 11:00 a.m. Quick poll . how many of you think Sheila is going to kill me . when I wake up at 10:30 a.m. to watch prerace stuff. Show of hands? No?... Oh , I see you don't want to get recognized by her. OK, how about secret ballot. Still no? I don't blame you I'm afraid that she is literally going to kill me!...Help me... No? I understand.

The Chiefs finished up their minicamp today. Yesterday to all of you. As far as quarterbacks go Trent Green , apparently has no future here in Kansas City. That leaves Damon Huard, and Brody Croyle to duke it out for the position. It kicks ass that we got Donnie Edwards back from San Diego. He only has a few years left to play though, in the Chiefs seem to be going towards attempting to be a young team. Their first pick in the draft was a wide receiver that is the size of a tight end. I will be sure an update you more often , as the season draws near.

Everything with me is going pretty well. I can't wait to get this PICC line out of my arm! Dammit we are an hour and a half late shooting antibiotics into said PICC line. I suppose I will live. I just hope whatever they're trying to kill with the antibiotics dies. PICC = Peripherally inserted central catheter. Med.Lesson over.

I hope you all liked my scentimental rose on Sheila's blog. The scent in scentimental definitely describes how awesome it smells. I was going to do a blog on it , really , but Sheila beat me to it. If you snooze , you lose. But I can show you one of my tree roses . Not nearly as cool , but still.

Time on my hands

Time on my hands sounds really weird to say to me. I mean I spent almost all of my day in bed, so truly I do have time on my hands almost 24/7. (Kinda makes you wonder why I don't blog more often) hmmm... Maybe I shouldn't let my sister know that.

Even though my hands are all finger curled and difficult to use I applaud and thank you all , each of you that has helped me with donations so that I might have a bathroom. I can't wait ,I can't wait! When I get this it is going to be huge,not huge size wise, but bed baths they just don't cut it! BTW; why is it all my roommates in the many hospitals that I have been in all have to ask the young cute nurses to give them sponge baths? I mean , I know why they think it, ;-) but do they really have to say? I'm sure they never heard that before cool guy! Maybe I'm wrong though, you see I am not able to flirt! I can honestly say I'm not a flirt. Never was.

All right I was asked a question about how well Dragon NaturallySpeaking really works. It was then that I realized I had never really pushed Dragon NaturallySpeaking to its fullest extent. There are three levels of reading to the DNS program that you use to train it to your voice patterns . And you must enunciate your words. Anyhow , the reading levels are easy, medium , and hardest and I never tried to read the hardest level. Surprisingly , I breezed right through it , although it was a one-hour excerpt from 3001 "a space Odyssey"'s third installment. There was no HAL...

After that , I started messing with my DNS program and I trained it to type my e-mail . whenever I say " my e-mail ." Plus a few of my passwords so now I can truly say . if you enunciate, and then go back through it and proofread and fix the mistakes later. You definitely can talk , and it will type what you say before you lose your train of thought, for those of us who are slow at typing. But here's the crappy part it cost $800 for the Dragon NaturallySpeaking program , and that was three years ago.

Thank you , Anam for asking me that question , because before that . I was having to go back and fix quite a few mistakes. Another thing, you have to buy a microphone headset. I have a very good Plantronic's headset, a cost around 40 bucks. It also helps you somewhat navigate Windows. I am sure that the program will do more (it's manual is as big as a " yellow page's " phone book.

Well , how's that for blogging all over the place. I might as well keep going. I found out yesterday I have another pressure wound starting on my foot. Here is a picture of my cat when I found out.
Now , instead of going"meow' he goes "meother f**ker"!

Matt Kenseth , who was leading the Allstar challenge was caught speeding off of pit road and had to go to the back of the pack.But the race was not for Nextel points it was strictly for $1 million.It is a race were only first-place wins.If he hadn't been caught speeding he would've won the race!

It's Mother's Day, Happy Mother's Day to ALL YOU MOTHERS! I love you mom, sorry I cannot take you out to dinner or something, but someday soon I will be able to get up in my chair (with the doctors permission)! Thank you for being there (again) when I was in the hospital.

It is the final day of Nurses Appreciation Week!! Personally, I believe it should be nurses appreciation year. Because while I know some of you have had experiences with bad nurses, mine are all Saints. They were sweet , caring, helpful, all while dealing with all of the other patients on the floor. And I think they were trying to negotiate with Sheila a way to keep me there and send home their "bad attitude " patients. Imagine that they consider me, ME a model patient!? Of course it didn't hurt that they were all pretty cute. ;-) .

Number one on my list of Saints though is definitely my beloved. She was there , sleeping in a crappy chair waking up every 20-45 minutes to help me cough (my C5 injury has paralyzed all of my lung muscles except for my diaphragm). The nurses coming in at all hours of the night . I'm sure did not help her sleep either. Every eight hours since then , she has had to give me antibiotics through my PICC line(a line that starts above my left elbow and runs through the blood vessels until it gets directly above my heart, just far enough to reach but not enough to enter the ventricle). I know you are thinking "eeeeeww", or maybe "whaaat", it sounds worse than it was, or looked. When she (the nurse) broke out the scalpel, and the 3 1/2 -- 4 inch hypodermic, I decided it was no longer time to watch. I have digressed, sorry. Anyway, Sheila has to push 20 cc of saline solution and 10 cc of antibiotics through the line. Note: to those of you who don't know Sheila and mornings mix like water and oil, ketchup and chocolate ice cream, or more like fire and gasoline, yep that's it!.... I pretend I'm asleep.

I apologize to everyone who has been waiting for me to post. Both patiently , and not so patiently. You know who you are (I have only two). It took me a little while to get back to posting because , quite frankly , I was pissed off at all of the shit my body is causing me, 90% of which is painful. And a little sad I was losing more of myself to the knife again. And writing at that time would have meant monotonous bitching. I will always try to keep bitching about medical stuff to a minimum. Oh great, it's time for more antibiotics . Was that considered bitching?

Well, Matt Kenseth once again has proved that he can drive a crappy machine and still get it within the top 10. It has Him in third place in the standings, but the luckiest driver this year Jeff Gordon is ahead of Matt by 300 points. I would much rather that Jeff win during the year and lose in the Chase for the Cup! It sure would be nice if Matt's garage crew could get his car running right. Still , he came in seventh place , which shows if he does get a good car he will be winning some more races.

Suddenly from out of nowhere...

I believe I will go directly into; things that I am a Number One Fan of! Yesterday I was waiting for a package from the FedEx people. I had ordered a 1:64 replica of Matt Kenseth's number 17 car. It had the USG Sheetrock paint scheme on it. It is one of the only 2006 paint schemes that I do not have. So FedEx showed up yesterday and delivered the package. It was a small package, I had to have Sheila open the box for me.

As she was opening it, suddenly from out of nowhere , I saw the word Sony on the box. It was the Sony Cybershot camera that I had won from Wheel of Fortune!!! I have to say it is a really nice camera, a really nice camera! They do not send a memory stick with it. Although there are memory sticks , available at decent prices. However , it has a built in memory that will hold seven pictures so at least I can play with it.

It has so much stuff on it . I will probably need several months to get use to everything it can do. You can hook it up to your TV , and not only use it as a closed-circuit TV. I believe you can also record whole movies, and such, if you have a 2GB memory stick. It says it can take 203 pictures on one set of two AA batteries, I will check that out as soon as I get a memory stick with enough memory. It's shutter speed at its fastest is 1/2000 of the second!! It has a snow setting so the glare of the sun off of the snow does not impede the image of the people in the picture!

I course , I am going to need to get a tripod and practice pushing the buttons on it. As I go along I will try to let you know some of the settings and how well they work. I will also let you know how "handicapped" friendly it is. (It is a DSC-S700) Sony Cybershot. For those of you taking notes like Sheila's friend Blue. I'm not sure Blue and I are friends. I mean, if she is friends with Sheila . then the jury is still out ;)

So FedEx came today....

PS:this week the Chiefs will get a chance to rebuild this team that Herm Edwards has single-handedly dismantled! The NFL draft starts this Saturday. BTW; Dante Hall is a Ram :(

I thought I would try to do some blogging before that thing that I am a Number One Fan of NASCAR!! It is the Busch series tonight. Matt Kenseth is driving tonight. Last week , he won!! It's going to be a good race, he is driving a green car today I'm pretty sure he will win !

I would like to thank everybody personally for giving me just enough crap about not blogging. Sorry , but a few of those days I really felt horrible horrible (you really did not want to hear about those days.) And I certainly did not want to tell you about them. Suffice it to say that I did not feel well enough to write.

Three cars crashed on the first lap, in the first turn. Matt Kenseth moved into second place. They're racing in Phoenix on a one-mile track. It's a night race, so is tomorrow's Nextel cup race and it is on a Saturday night.?. Way to mix it up there NASCAR. I'm going to have to just write more during yellow flags. Matt just fell to sixth. Consequently that's the same spot . he occupies in the Busch series standings. Which is pretty good considering he has only raced six of the eight races there have been.

My cat has decided to join me here in bed. Before I got hurt , he used to meow under the door of the bedroom to wake me up at six in the morning, so that I could get up and go lay down on the couch. Then he would curl up in a little ball under my chin. He's not such a little ball now, but he still manages to curl up under my chin. He is a yellow tabby with white on his face and feet. Puts out a surprising amount of heat. For some reason his tongue sticks out a lot.?
Do you suppose he's trying to tell Sheila something?Because he loves me.PS his right eye is not messed up,that is his inner eyelid!

I sure hope this works! I have this awesome software program that I got when I first got hurt. It is called Dragon Naturally Speaking , and I do almost all of my writing with it. It allows me to speak into a microphone and types whatever I say. Truly . it is the fastest way for me to type , and not just because my fingers don't work, (I never learned to type). ;) My intro of "so this is what I get" was supposed to have implications about how it snowed because I have finally started blogging again! But mother nature would not leave that be, now the snow is coming down so hard the satellite signal for my computer is out.

Now , on my Dragon NaturallySpeaking program , I have the ability to use a "DragonPad" to do this writing. Here's the catch though . I have to figure out how to transfer all this from the DragonPad to my blog spot. Of course , if I can't do it you won't be reading this and I am not such a number one fan of that.

I shall continue now has though I am able to transfer . everything.

What I am a Number One Fan of is that the Nextel Cup Series racing has began again (they got Easter weekend off). I think they should've raced last week. Not that I'm being a hard ass, it's just that I'm sure there are a lot of mothers that would have appreciated watching. It is, as I learned last weekend, the sport with the highest number of women viewers. Of course , I heard it from NASCAR.com so I'm just guessing that they might be a little biased.

OK , so NASCAR is back and my driver Matt Kenseth will start in 4th-position, not because that is where he qualified, but instead because of where he is in the standings. That's the way they do it when qualifying races are rained out. Since he is in 4th place , he gets to start in 4th position in the race. Matt also drives well at Texas Motor Speedway. I'm guessing if he doesn't win he will at least be in the top five! In fact , I predict a top three finish of Kenseth then Carl Edwards , then maybe Tony Stewart. It would be nice if Jeff Gordon , and Jimmy Johnson would finish out of the top 10. btw; The different colors are the main colors of their cars .

Still haven't heard anything about my camera. I just hope as long as it's been now that the people at"Wheel of Fortune" don't try to screw me out of my prize. I just know that Pat Sayjak and Vanna White decided they just had to have the camera, probably not even for themselves but for a family member. Yeah , Bad Hosts. I have been keeping on top of it. It has been verified by Christine, that it was entered into the computer on the day it was supposed to be to win. All I know about Christine is that she works for the regional Wheel of Fortune office. Your guess is as good as mine about what a regional office is?

An interesting twist...

I had just put the headset on to begin writing my blog today. I was going to begin poking fun at people who send chain mail/chain e-mails. But something interesting happened , that I truly was not expecting! A good friend of mine got me started watching Wheel of Fortune, and earning reward points. The rewards points could then be used to try to win prizes.

I took 500 points (that I earned by 10 points a night). I was playing the daily giveaway. Where you can spin a wheel that has the numbers 1 to 10 on it. Whichever number it lands on you multiply it by the number of points (500) and it equals the number of entries in the daily giveaway.

Guess what?? I went to the Wheel of Fortune web site to play the game. I decided to check the recent winners page, you know to see if I won, yeah right.Yeah right?YEAH RIGHT!!! I see my username and the the town I live in the winners spot. Suddenly there's a problem!

I can't find anything on the entire page that has anything to do with how to claim your prize. All of a sudden I'm not just excited about winning , but getting irritated , because I can't figure out how to claim my prize. So who do I call? I'm sure you've already figured out it was Sheila I called

she was at work , but she had access to a computer. And figured out who I needed to call to actually claim my prize. After 15 minutes of being on hold , listening to Muzak . I managed to make it so that next week , someone will call. Yeah it's definitely mine....

Let me see, it seems there is some important information that I have not given. What could it be? Oh well , if I figure it out I will tell you tomorrow. Just kidding, I won a Sony Cybershot camera. 7.1 megapixel's, that retails from $190

So I'm a Number One Fan of Wheel of Fortune! Oddly enough, I had two of my small DeWalt car's setting on my keyboards at that time. Go Matt Kenseth! And Carl Edwards! Damn it's cold here.

All of my plants and flowers that are outdoors are going to die probably. Tonight its 23° . tomorrow night and the night after that 18°, 19°. And that's a drag because I have some really cool plants going, no pun intended.

Hello all, number one fan here. Matt Kenseth managed to pull off a 10th place finish. At the racetrack that he does the worst at, according to statistics! That keeps him in fourth place over all. Carl Edwards came in 17, he is 9th overall. Boy that Jimmy Johnson can drive. He has already won three races, and there have only been six races so far! And get this, Jeff Gordon is in first, and Denny Hamlin second??? Did I mention Jimmy won half of all the races so far. Actually , the reason he is third is due to how bad he/his car drove in the other three races.

It was a beautiful day here today 80° and breezy, that's about what it takes to get me outside without a longsleeved shirt on. New lesson; I must keep my blood thiner than the average person's, yet thick enough that I don't constantly bleed from a wound. Therefore , I take Coumadin/warfarin (bad side effects . I can't remember what but it was bad) , but only for those who have reactions. I must not. But I digress, anyway it makes me so cold-natured I have to wear blankets when the temperature is below 70°.

Temperatures like today's, this early in the year, make it possible for me to talk Sheila into going geo-caching. You are given the longitude and latitude of a cache (container of some sort from a film canister size to lunchbox size). Most are located in out-of-the-way spots in the woods and parks across the nation. You enter longitude and latitude on a GPS system and off you go hunting them. They are placed there by other geo-cachers. When you find them , you open them up like small treasure chests , and there's a wide variety of items from flashlights, to kids toys , to trading cards, and geo-coins, etc. You take an item from the container and replace it with an item that you brought with you.There's also a log book for you to sign even in the film canisters. My wheelchair causes us to have to look for the fairly easy caches, I am surprised myself with the places my wheelchair will go. But I will always have to have someone go with me to pick up the cache and to open it, and well to do pretty much everything! But that's a good thing I guess.

'Safe' Happens!

Hello again everyonethank you for returning. I realize there is only one of you, and Sheila, at this point. Lucky for Sheila , we don't have to share a computer, I got a notebook computer shortly after my accident.

I guess I should start with a bit of information about the accident. First and foremost , always always and forever without fail, use a harness if you are going to hunt from a deer stand !!! Notice I wrote that in Hunters safety orange ;) My deer stand only dropped me about 10 feet . I landed on my head. I broke my C5 , which is short for cervical vertebra five (feel the back of your neck for the vertebra that sticks out the most, that is your C7), below that are T (thoracic) 1 through 12, then L (lumbar) 1-5, and finally S (sacral) 1-5. OK first lesson over.

Besides I feel that one guy coming , you know, the Number One Fan. Today's Saturday , and that is normally the Busch series race, but instead it was the truck series , which to this point I haven't watched very much. Mike Skinner won the race . This is his third consecutive win.

Tomorrow is the Nextel cup race, where my usually awesome driver is in 33rd out of 43 places. Matt Kenseth compares Martinsville's racetrack to racing in a" parking lot around to lampposts 1000 times." And he is going to be in the U. S. G. sheet rock car instead of his usual black and gold DeWalt car. Go number 17 and 99 too!

Well , I had better try to get to sleep the race starts at 12: 30 here! On Fox. OK , then goodnight.

Hello World Wide Web
OK , this is kind of strange for me, I never really thought I would start blog. Since I have lots of time on my hands , I see no reason not to. I have excellent help with my blog from Sheila. So hopefully , I'll have a really cool blog spot. I am, Tom, (a C5 -quadriplegic) that Sheila talks about on her site. She knows more than I do about my disability so most of that stuff will be on her blog spot. In fact , I consider my blog a companion''book'' to her blog spot. I'm sure many times , she will explain to you medical procedures and such, and I will give you an insider's aspect of it. But most of the time I will be the"NUMBER ONE FAN"! Of what? That could change, will change from day to day. With the exception of KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FOOTBALL & NASCAR!![#17 DeWalt car, and awesome driver Matt Kenseth] combine to make my team! I'm also a huge fan of [#99 Office Depot car and Carl Edwards] . I spent three visits in Columbia , Missouri rehabbing from my injury, it also happens to be where Carl hails from! Alright I am off of here until tomorrow, or possibly later tonight, maybe not for two days or three.
